I’ve been experimenting with Niagara Fluids and found it to be quite promising. While the tool is still in development and has some limitations, its integration with the Niagara system greatly expands its possibilities. I have two works showcasing fire and smoke separately, but I’m also experimenting with smaller projects to gain a deeper understanding. I also found Houdini's tree generator to be quite impressive and easy to use for both current and future projects.
